Health & Safety Policy Statement
Health and Safety at Work, etc Act 1974 and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
It is our aim at Lampton Leisure to ensure that employees, customers, and others who work, use, and visit our facilities are protected, so far as reasonably practicable, from risks to health and safety arising from our work.
This policy statement provides an overview of the health and safety responsibilities, objectives, and targets to achieve standards and deliver continuous improvement.
Company Responsibilities
Lampton Leisure recognises and accepts its health and safety responsibilities as an employer and will endeavour to:
- Establish an effective management structure, with key health and safety responsibilities identified for each role, which are communicated effectively to employees.
- Ensure relevant risk assessments and appropriate controls are implemented, so that risks are reduced so far as is reasonably practicable, to maintain healthy and safe working conditions.
- Prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health by managing health and safety risks from work activities.
- Provide clear information, instructions, training, and supervision to ensure staff are competent.
- Engage and consult with employees on day-to-day work conditions and planned changes.
- Implement emergency procedures to include safe evacuation in case of fire or any other significant incident.
- Provide and maintain safe plant, equipment, machinery, and safe systems of work.
- Enable safe handling and use of substances.
- Provide appropriate resources to manage health and safety systems effectively.
- Retain ISO 45001 Occupational health and safety management standard certification.
Employee Responsibilities
All employees have a legal duty to:
- Take care of themselves and others around them who may be affected by their actions.
- Co-operate with their managers and to follow the company’s health and safety management arrangements so that everyone can to carry out their responsibilities.
- Immediately report any incident, accidents, defects, or unsafe situations.
- Always follow safe systems of work, safety instructions as shown or instructed when carrying out tasks.
- Not to interfere with or misuse anything provided for their health, safety, and welfare.
- Remove themselves and those in their charge from any situation in which there is an imminent risk of harm or injury and report this as soon as possible to their line managers.
This policy supports the Lampton 360 Group Health & Safety Policy and values. The responsibility to ensure that detailed organisation and arrangements are in place for the delivery of this policy is that of the Lampton Leisure Board and Managing Director.
