Come along and take part in our FREE outdoor sessions with Lampton Leisure! With a range of activities for all ages and abilities there’s something to suit everyone.

These sessions will be available every week for 6 weeks from Monday 26th July until Thursday 2nd September 2021 giving those in our local community the opportunity to take part in a range of activities free of charge.

Meet us at Osterley for some athletics, netball or a fun filled family sports day. Heston for an over 50’s health walk or an outdoor session or bring the kids down to Hanworth for a family fitness day. The choice is yours!

Everyone and anyone can take part, you do not need to be a member. Simply visit our website or download the Lampton Leisure app, register for an account and head to the relevant centre where the session is held book your sessions. Bookings are available 7 days in advance.

Summer is here and it’s time to feel amazing! Your health and wellbeing has never been so important and we’re here to help you along your fitness journey. Following the Government update regarding restrictions easing from 19th July 2021, we are pleased to let you know that some of our restrictions we had in place can now ease.

From next week, visits to your centre will look slightly different:
• Bookings for gym and swim sessions are no longer compulsory however will still be available for you to book in advance if you wish.
• Group exercise bookings remain compulsory.
• Our changing rooms and lockers will be open and available for use.
• Our opening hours have been extended.
• Family swim sessions have been added to our swim timetables.
• All Swim School sessions will return to the full time that is allocated to the lesson.
• At New Chiswick and Isleworth, parents no longer need to accompany their child in the pool for stage 1 lessons. For pre-school lessons, we ask that you stay in the pool for the meantime.
• At Brentford, Hanworth and Heston, parents no longer need to accompany their child in the pool for pre-school lessons.
• Spectator areas will be open.

We would like to reassure you that we will continue to operate cautiously and ask all members to do the same to ensure we are still doing what we can to restrict the spread of the virus. Where possible, please maintain social distancing and continue to wear a face covering in communal areas.

What’s new?

Our Soft Play centres at Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre and Heston Pools & Fitness will be open in early August. Bring the kids along for a fun filled session and burn off some energy! While you are there, grab a coffee and a meal from our brand new café, Snack Box by Lampton.

The café at Heston opened on the 1st July, Brentford’s café is opening on the 26th July and Isleworth’s and Hanworth’s will follow shortly after. We have a great range of healthy and delicious options available for everyone!

Our Health Suites are preparing to open in the next couple of weeks after being refurbished and deep cleaned. Hanworth and Heston will be open and ready for you to enjoy from the 19th July. New Chiswick will follow early August.

A full refurbishment is underway at Isleworth Leisure where you will see a brand new jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and loungers. This will be open again in a couple of months.

With summer fast approaching we’re sure everyone is keen to get out and enjoy the UK’s beautiful water sites after months of restrictions. But throughout 2020 and 2021, young people have missed out on the vital opportunity to swim, leaving a dramatic gap in school swimming and water safety education.

Drowning Prevention Week, this year running 19-26 June 2021, is a national awareness raising campaign that encourages parents, schools, leisure centres, community groups and businesses, to use the Charity’s free online resources to teach children and young people the skills they need, to enjoy a lifetime of fun in the water.

At Lampton Leisure, we are supporting this great campaign and will be hosting a range of activities at the end of Swim School lessons from 19-26 June. These will take place in the last 10 minutes of each lesson where there will be a variety of activities for each stage that aims to help with skills and knowledge to make the right decisions about water safety.

We ask that the children in stages 6-10 bring an old t-shirt and shorts to their lesson for the activity which you don’t mind getting wet. This will be a demonstration of a real-life scenario where you may get caught out with more on that just your swimmers!

This week will also be a great opportunity for our teachers to run assessments and progress pupils through to the next stage so stay tuned on the home portal for the fantastic progress your child is making at Swim School!

London Youth Games launched a Virtual Spring Run competition to help encourage young Londoners back to sport.

The Virtual Spring Run provided young Londoners with the opportunity to get active and represent their boroughs as they prepare for a return to face-to-face sport. The competition began on 10th May and ran until 24th May.

Participants could choose a distance between 0.5km and 5km to run. Their distance then went towards a borough total. The borough that ran the furthest collective distance at the end of the two-week competition were then crowned Virtual Spring Run champions.

Hounslow finished 6th out of all the 33 London boroughs!

Jonathan Barbour, from Lampton Leisure Sports & Community Development Team said: “We’d like to pass on a huge thank you to all of the runners who represented the Borough of Hounslow and their family and friends who supported them for the competition. We would also like to say a huge thank you to all the schools who got behind the competition.”

Team Hounslow, do you have what it takes to win the Virtual Spring Run competition?

London Youth Games is launching a Virtual Spring Run competition for all Londoners aged 18 or under. The competition began on Monday 10th May and run for a two-week period until Monday 24th May.

How to get involved:
1. Choose a distance between 0.5km and 5km to run.
2. Submit your entry via the LYG website and the borough that runs the furthest collective distance will win.
3. Get your local squad involved to help back your borough and contribute to the furthest distance.

Whether entering as an individual, an Athletics club, a school, or a community group, the competition is open to all Londoners aged 18 or under. Distances can be completed running, walking, using a wheelchair, a frame or with assistance.

Individual prizes are also up for grabs as part of The 3km Challenge. Participants wishing to enter the 3km Challenge must submit a time for their 3km distance. The fastest male and female entrants will be awarded with some Nike running swag!

Great news, all members have access to a fantastic range of online classes including a selection of Les Mills classes that you can take part in from the comfort of your own home!
