The London Youth Games Volleyball competition took place at the UEL Sports Dock on 25th and 26th June with Year 10 and Year 12 students from Isleworth and Syon Boy’s School taking part.

After an early start the team , who had trained together for four weeks before the competition, progressed quickly through their group games, winning four out of five fixtures. A conclusive quarter final win saw the team progress to the semi-finals. After losing to Brent, the team eventually placed fourth overall.

Coach Alex Nowicki said ‘The day was amazing, and the boys were incredible, exceeding expectations. Despite being the underdogs we definitely established ourselves as contenders and gained a good reputation with the organisers and other teams throughout the day. We finished in fourth, and were the highest placed team from West London.

Our team was captained by Tariq Sadouki. Tariq lead training sessions and decided positions and tactics on the day and did a great job.”
